Luster VS Metal

The Luster option is a traditional photo-paper print with a matte (non-glossy) finish. The non-glossy option allows for reduced glare for optimum viewing conditions. A paper print would need to be framed.

A Metal print is a new technology printing process that prints directly to an aluminum "canvas". It is highly durable. It is glossy which can add depth to rich colors. It comes ready to hang and needs no additional framing. The overall cost can be lower with a metal print vs a custom framed photo-paper print.

Shipping Time

Please allow 2 weeks for handling in addition to shipping time. In some cases you are getting the very first print! In these cases your print will go through a very rigorous color calibration and quality process to achieve the best reproduction. Monitors and prints display differently. Monitors emit light where photo-paper reflects light. Because of this fundamental difference in how light is used the photo may need to be tweaked multiple times before it lives up to my standards.

Metal and larger prints are printed remotely and never sent directly to you. I receive them first and give them a quality inspection to make sure that the color is correct and that the print isn't damaged in any way. Then it is repackaged and shipped to you!

Reducing Framing Costs

Prints are cheaper initially but require the added expense of framing. You can get ready-made and custom frames at stores like Michael's, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Aaron Brothers to name a few. They always run sales so look for coupons.

A custom matted solution will look best in your home as you can tie the print and the mat to the colors of the display space. Custom matted options are expensive but frame stores almost always have coupons so look for those.
